Privacy notice
This is a static personal page. It sets no cookies and uses no analytics, no tracking, no forms and no third-party scripts, fonts or embeds.
Who is responsible
Aleksandrs Aleksandrovs (Alex Alexandrow), Riga, Latvia, is responsible for the personal data described here. Contact: me@alexandrow.dev.
When you visit this site
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. To deliver the page and protect it from abuse, Cloudflare processes technical data about each request, such as your IP address, browser user agent, the requested address and the time of the request. Cloudflare does this on my behalf as a service provider.
The Cloudflare dashboard shows me a sample of individual requests to this site, including the IP address, the approximate country, the requested address and the time, for a limited period set by Cloudflare. I look at these records only to keep the site working and secure. I do not use them to identify or profile visitors, and I do not combine them with other data. Cloudflare keeps request data for the periods described in its own policies. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in running a working and secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). See Cloudflare’s privacy policy and its data processing addendum.
When you email me
Messages sent to me@alexandrow.dev pass through Cloudflare Email Routing, which forwards them to my personal Gmail mailbox provided by Google (see Google’s privacy policy).
I use your email address and your message only to read and answer it. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in handling messages sent to me (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). If you ask me to take steps before a possible agreement, for example to discuss a project or a role, the processing needed for that is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.
I delete correspondence when it is no longer needed, unless I have to keep it to comply with the law or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Transfers outside the EU
Cloudflare and Google may process data outside the EU/EEA, including in the United States. Cloudflare relies on its certification under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and on Standard Contractual Clauses included in its data processing addendum (see Cloudflare’s GDPR information). Google states that it relies on the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and, where required, on Standard Contractual Clauses (see Google’s legal frameworks for data transfers).
Your rights
You can ask for access to your personal data, its correction or erasure, or restriction of its processing. Because the processing described here is mainly based on legitimate interests, you can also object to it. These rights apply as set out in the GDPR and can have exceptions; for example, I may keep data that I need for legal claims.
Send requests to me@alexandrow.dev. I will reply within one month. If a request is complex and I need more time, I will tell you within that month.
You can also lodge a complaint with the Latvian data protection authority, the Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija), or with the authority in your own EU country.
